A cozy autumn table

My biggest hobby is setting the table, and I go the extra mile when friends or family come over for dinner. The process always starts at the florist and/or with the pruning shears in the garden. I choose colors that I think suit the season and build on that.
Warm, vibrant autumn colors
Autumn has a beautiful color palette with warm tones: olive green, ochre yellow, and rust red. These autumn colors immediately create a warm atmosphere. For a little extra pizzazz at the table, vibrant colors such as fuchsia and orange work very well and match beautifully with the autumn tones.
The magic of odd numbers
So I choose a variety of flowers in these lovely autumn colors and arrange them in an odd number of vases. It's an unwritten law, but the eye finds everything in odd numbers more interesting. In terms of styling, you should always work in groups of 3, 5, 7, or 9. It makes the whole thing more playful than when you work with even numbers. Give it a try! When arranging the flowers, I prefer to use small vases for the table, so that you can still see each other properly.
Table linen
A festive table cannot do without flowers, but also not without table linen. It immediately gives your table a warm, full look. I used to prefer crisp white linen, but nowadays I find the more colorful, the better. Take a look at our website for cozy, colorful tablecloths to create a wonderful atmosphere at the table. Napkins—not paper ones—complete the look, especially with these beautiful napkin rings. Then work in layers by stacking your decorations. Place placemats on the tablecloth, then underplates, dinner plates, soup plates, etc. on top of those.
Mix & Match
I can never resist browsing through a few thrift stores. I think I have a tableware and thrift store eye, and they happen to go very well together ;-). For this autumn table, I found these wonderful terracotta underplates that I thought matched beautifully with the autumn colors and our La dolce vita di una Farfalla plates. I also found this cute duck salt and pepper set to add a fun touch to the table. So don't be afraid to mix old and new!
